I think we’d all agree that our kitchens need a metaphorical pat on the back.

For the past three months, the kitchen has served as a practical, social, functional and living room, all rolled into one.

Spending so much time in our own homes has clearly had a big impact on all of us.

More importantly, it’s likely to shape how we decide to live in the future.

Trends and online search activity suggest that even though lockdown is easing, many of us are considering how we can make our homes more appropriate for family and social situations.

And we’re seeing a new emphasis on creating multifunctional, open-plan homes, that are easy to spend time in.

In fact, if you scroll through the website and social of most kitchen manufacturers right now, you’ll be hard-pushed to find any trace of your traditional enclosed kitchen.

So, as we abolish the old norm of segregated rooms and bring down the dividing walls, we find ourselves needing a little bit more than kitchen furniture.
