Dark Kitchens Are Trending

It’s been a busy couple of months here at Audus Kitchens which, I guess, isn’t a surprise. Lockdown, combined with quarantine, has given people the time to plan their kitchen and, with less people going on holiday, plenty of folks are opting for a new kitchen instead.

After speaking to A LOT of new clients in recent weeks, I could talk to you about the latest kitchen design trends until I’m blue in the face, but I’ll stick to just three of the biggest:

Dark Kitchen Designs

Black, dark grey and graphite are definitely IN at the moment and it’s not hard to see why. These colours can add a touch of class and elegance, as well as making your kitchen cosier for those long winter months.

One piece of advice, these colours tend to work better for bigger kitchens as there’s plenty of light being projected and therefore, won’t darken your space too much and make it seem smaller.

If you have got a smaller space, you can still use these colours, but you’ll need to be smart with your worktops and light sources, to make sure you’re maximising the space – if you want to talk through some kitchen design ideas, just get in touch here.

Quooker Taps

If you’ve been looking for kitchens, you’ll have seen the Quooker taps, and what’s not to love about them?

The big selling point of Quooker was always instant boiling water, but they’ve recently added chilled, filtered water AND sparkling water to the mix. So, if you’re a fan of the fizzy stuff, it’s a no-brainer to get it on tap in your kitchen.

Downdraft Hobs

If you’ve not seen a downdraft hob, then here’s what you need to know – it’ll extract smells and steam from your hob without having to have an overhead extractor. This gives your kitchen a sleek, minimal look, while keeping it clean and grease-free too.

Right now, the Bora kitchen hob is hugely popular – you can see more details on that here.
