Our Windlesham showroom wins Best Showroom Design

We are delighted to share that our Windlesham showroom has won Best Showroom Design at the 2026 Golden Triangle awards.

The judges recognised the way our displays bring kitchen ideas to life, helping you picture how different layouts, finishes and design details could work in your own home. They also praised the balance between appearance and practicality, including our lighting choices and clever ways to conceal utility spaces.

It is a lovely achievement for the Audus Kitchens team and an opportunity to share what makes a visit to Windlesham so useful when planning a new kitchen.

Kitchen inspiration you can relate to

Looking at kitchen photographs is a great starting point, but visiting a showroom gives you a different perspective. You can stand beside an island, compare finishes up close and get a better sense of how the different elements work together.

At Windlesham, the displays put those decisions into context. The judges highlighted the way each setting feels connected to everyday life, making it easier to imagine the possibilities in your own space.

That matters because choosing a kitchen involves much more than finding a door colour you love. You need to think about where you will prepare meals, how you will move around the room and what you want to keep within easy reach. Seeing a complete setting can help you ask questions you might not have considered while browsing online.

Thoughtful ways to keep practical spaces tucked away

One detail that caught the judges' attention was the use of kitchen furniture to conceal utility spaces.

Laundry and household jobs need a place in your home, but you may prefer to keep them out of view when you are cooking or spending time with friends. Exploring ways to hide these areas can open up useful conversations about your own layout.

Perhaps you want a clearer distinction between your kitchen and utility room, or a more consistent appearance across adjoining spaces. The displays offer ideas to discuss with your designer, who can help you consider what is suitable for your home.

Contemporary finishes with plenty to explore

The judges also recognised the combination of handled and handleless cabinetry, soft neutral colours, matt finishes and integrated appliances throughout the showroom.

Seeing these options in person can help you understand what appeals to you. You might be drawn to the simplicity of a handleless design, or find that a carefully chosen handle adds exactly the detail you want.

Neutral shades deserve a closer look, too. Subtle differences in colour and texture can change the feel of a kitchen, particularly when paired with different worktops and lighting. A showroom visit gives you time to explore those combinations before making decisions about your own scheme.

Lighting that deserves a closer look

Lighting received particular praise from the judges, including the recessed ceiling lights, glass pendants above the islands and lighting beneath the wall cabinets.

Each has a different role. Ceiling lighting provides general illumination, pendants add interest above an island, and under-cabinet lights help illuminate the worktop where you prepare food.

For your own project, it is a useful reminder to consider lighting early in the design process. Think about where you need clear task lighting and how you would like the room to feel once cooking is finished. Exploring these details alongside your cabinetry and layout helps create a more considered result.
